If the name Scientifica may sound a little pompous and all encompassing, just get over it. It simply sounds good.
A friend of mine had a plaque on his desk that read: "Without data, it's just another opinion". Unfortunately, the vast majority of the public have absolutely no hard data on anything, just opinions. Even more depressing is that the people we have chosen to make important decisions are swayed by opinion. I hope to make this an interesting place where we can have enlightened discussions on issues of interest to me.
Those interests are, the pseudo-science of global warming (or climate change or whatever the catchphrase du jour happens to be), the not-so emerging industry of biofuels (where I daily toil), and China (where I have recently spent a year of my life). Other things may crop up from time to time.
My posts will not be overly frequent (I figure up to three a week is all you could take), but I promise they will will be well thought out and reasoned. Or at least as reasoned as I am able to make them.
